Project Manager – Telecom Infrastructure

Location: Kansas City Metro

We’re not looking for a “sit-behind-a-desk” project manager.

We want a hunter. A deal-maker. A relationship builder. Someone who can walk into a room full of ISP reps, developers, builders, and municipalities and own it.

What You’ll Do

You will own projects from concept to completion—but this role is just as much sales and relationship management as it is project execution.

Business Development & Sales

Identify and pursue new subdivision and commercial development opportunities
Engage developers early to secure timelines and project participation
Pitch and sell Joint Trench participation to telecom and internet providers
Secure commitments from multiple providers to participate in each project

Project Planning & Coordination

Evaluate projects, create estimates, and build timelines
Coordinate with power companies to align conduit path with electric distribution plans
Coordinate engineering design and collaborate with telecom partners on their fiber designs
Organize permitting with municipalities for right-of-way excavation

Execution & Delivery

Secure and manage underground contractors
Oversee construction, installation, and inspections of conduit systems
Ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local industry standards, safety protocols and best practices.

Closeout & Revenue

Deliver as-built documentation and final project packages
Invoice telecom and ISP partners based on agreed pricing models
Maintain relationships for repeat business

What Makes This Role Different

What You Bring

2–4 years experience in construction, telecom, utilities, or project management (or proven hustle in sales)
Strong communication skills—you’re confident talking to anyone, anytime
Ability to juggle multiple moving parts without losing momentum
Comfortable working in the field, not just behind a screen
Highly driven, competitive, and results-oriented

Bonus Points

Experience with underground utilities, fiber, or conduit systems
Existing relationships with developers, municipalities, or telecom providers
Understanding of permitting and right-of-way processes

Compensation

Base salary + bonus
