Full Job Description

Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, and seeing the direct impact of your work?

A successful, growing organization is looking for a Senior Accountant to become a key member of its finance team. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with senior leadership and colleagues across the business to maintain accurate financial records, strengthen accounting processes, and provide the financial insight needed to support better decisions.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative approach.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Take ownership of general-ledger maintenance and ensure transactions are recorded accurately in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Lead or support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate results within established deadlines.
Perform account and balance-sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues proactively.
Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, reclassifications, and other financial adjustments.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while providing meaningful insight into financial performance.
Assist with corporate, sales, and other tax-compliance responsibilities, including calculating and filing state sales tax returns.
Prepare documentation and serve as a resource during external audits.
Help maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Manage payroll processing and support select HR functions as needed.
Collaborate with accounting team members, senior leaders, and other departments to resolve financial issues and maintain accurate data.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, and increase the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Three to five years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general-ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
Experience using QuickBooks, SAP, or a comparable accounting or ERP system.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
The organization and time-management skills needed to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute as part of a collaborative team.

EXPERIENCE THAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

Public accounting or audit experience.
CPA designation or progress toward certification.
Familiarity with tax compliance and external audit processes.
A track record of identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical process improvements.
