Overview

We are a small, boutique cafe seeking a passionate, reliable Cafe Cook & Prep person to join our tight-knit team for our busiest days of the week (Friday through Monday). In this role, you will be the heart of our compact kitchen, executing our menu to perfection and prepping fresh ingredients daily.

If you love the hustle of a small kitchen, have a genuine passion for both cooking and baking, and take pride in precisely following recipes to deliver tasty breads, scones, cookies, breakfast sandwhiches and parfaits, we would love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibly prepare, cook/bake precisely following our established recipes and presentation standards.
Handle daily back-of-house prep work, including chopping, portioning, and baking tasks (e.g., fresh pastries, scones, or specialty baked goods).
Manage a compact kitchen space efficiently, keeping your station organized and fully stocked for the next day.
Take ownership of kitchen cleanliness, including washing prep dishes and maintaining strict compliance with food safety and health department guidelines.
Monitor ingredient freshness, track daily stock levels, and minimize waste using proper rotation (FIFO).

Shift & Schedule

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Required, flexibility preferred)
6-8 hour days, depending on need
Seasonal March - end of November

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Experienced preferred, willing to train.
Baking Interest: A genuine passion for baking and an eye for detail when it comes to food presentation.
Recipe Discipline: Ability to follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency across every single order.
Work Ethic: A mature, self-motivated professional who thrives working independently or in close coordination with our barista team.
Certifications: Valid Food Handler’s Permit (or willingness to obtain one upon hire).
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for the duration of a shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
