As a Manufacturing (Forging) Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting various machines and equipment to produce high-quality products. Equipment may include, but is not limited to: upsetters, forging hammers, furnaces, trim presses, robotic controls, forklifts, overhead hoists, and other departmental machinery.
Manufacturing (Forging) Operator Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain equipment to perform tasks such as inspecting, gauging, counting, heating, upsetting, forging, trimming, stamping, sorting, and stacking.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, routing sheets, and process procedures.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and other devices to ensure product quality.
- Perform visual inspections, separate parts, record production and scrap data, and maintain accurate production records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine machine and equipment upkeep.
- Provide your own basic hand tools as required for the role.
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?
- Ability to sit or stand and perform repetitive tasks for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Full use of both hands, with the ability to walk, hear, see, and read instructions.
- Physical strength to:
- Swing a sledgehammer.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and vice versa.
- Handle 15 lbs. continuously throughout the shift.
- Work in high-temperature environments.
- Lift up to 75 lbs. and carry it at waist level for a distance of 10 feet.
