Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, supervise accounting staff, manage the month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, strong excel skills and a passion for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Analyze financial results and explain significant variances.

Accounting Operations

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and cash management.
Ensure timely bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure timely governmental reporting (sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, etc.)
Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury activities.
Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.

Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Coordinate annual financial audits and tax preparation with external auditors and advisors.
Prepare regulatory filings and reporting requirements.
Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls.

Budgeting & Analysis

Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Provide financial recommendations to leadership to support business decisions.

Leadership

Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience using ERP or accounting software (such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, or similar).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
