We are seeking a Nutrition Counselor for our NEW Davenport, IA clinic!! Experience preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate.

The Nutrition Counselor works under the direct supervision of the clinic Nurse Practitioner according to the medical protocol set forth by Medi-Weightloss Clinics®. Under general direction, provides nutrition training, documents patients’ progress, and assists with patient care management. The environment is fast-paced, and the position is multifaceted.

Essential Job Functions

Conducts consultations as delegated by clinic manager/supervising physician with patients regarding the Medi-Weightloss Clinics® program
Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns
Documents patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR

Non-essential Job Functions

Performs other clinical duties as required
Assists with all administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering telephones, scheduling patients, and filing medical records
Responsible for daily inventory levels of all clinical supplies
Trains additional staff on daily procedures when requested by the office manager and/or physician
Participates in clinic marketing efforts and provides ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success

Requirements

Minimum High School diploma with formal nutrition training or medical background preferred

Knowledge in physical fitness

Medical Assistant Certificate a plus!

Other Skills/Abilities

Motivational counseling/advising skills
Must be able to multi-task, apply critical thinking skills, and provide highest level of customer service at all levels of the operation
Interpersonal / human relations skills
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both oral and written
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work with as part of the clinic team and corporate structure
