About Dreamland Galaxy

Dreamland Galaxy is one of Illinois' newest premier family entertainment destinations. Our 23,000+ square-foot facility features a large indoor playground, VR attractions, arcade games, birthday party rooms, café, and family-focused experiences designed to create unforgettable memories.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an exceptional General Manager who will lead our team, drive operational excellence, and help build Dreamland Galaxy into the premier family entertainment center in the region.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of Dreamland Galaxy. This position oversees staffing, guest experience, facility operations, safety, financial performance, and team development while ensuring every guest has an outstanding experience.

This is not a desk job. We are looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor, coaching employees, interacting with guests, solving problems, and leading by example.

The General Manager reports directly to the Owner and plays a critical role in the continued growth and success of the business.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Leadership

Oversee all daily operations of the facility.
Ensure attractions, arcade equipment, café, party rooms, and guest areas operate efficiently.
Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the facility.
Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately every day.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
Keep the facility inspection-ready and operating safely at all times.

Team Leadership

Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop employees.
Build weekly staff schedules while managing labor costs.
Coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable.
Conduct performance evaluations and corrective action when necessary.
Foster a positive, energetic, and professional workplace culture.
Lead by example through professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

Guest Experience

Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable guest experiences.
Resolve guest concerns quickly, professionally, and with empathy.
Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements.
Ensure every guest leaves feeling valued and excited to return.

Financial & Business Performance

Manage labor, inventory, and operational expenses responsibly.
Review daily, weekly, and monthly business performance reports.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Help achieve revenue and operational goals.
Support local marketing efforts and community partnerships.

Events & Party Operations

Oversee birthday parties, group events, and private rentals.
Ensure every event is well-organized, fully staffed, and executed at a high standard.
Support continuous improvement of the guest experience for parties and special events.

Safety & Compliance

Maintain compliance with all company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Ensure all safety procedures are followed by employees.
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
Promote a safe environment for guests and team members.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of management experience.
Proven experience leading and developing teams.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience managing schedules, labor, hiring, and employee performance.
Comfortable using POS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.

Schedule

This is a full-time leadership position that typically requires 50–60 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on business needs. The General Manager is expected to be present during peak operating times and lead the team by example.
