Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Fire Protection Project Manager/Estimator, where you will lead the planning, estimating, and execution of fire protection systems projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage comprehensive project scopes, develop accurate cost estimates, and oversee installation processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. You will be instrumental in delivering innovative fire suppression solutions that protect lives and property while driving project success from conception through completion.

Duties

Review construction drawings and technical specifications to accurately interpret project requirements and material needs.
Develop detailed cost estimates using HeavyBid or similar estimating software, ensuring precise pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, controlling expenses, and implementing effective cost management strategies.
Prepare comprehensive proposals and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
Oversee the bidding process by analyzing bids, evaluating subcontractor proposals, and selecting the best value options.
Coordinate with construction teams on-site to review progress, address issues promptly, and ensure adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
Utilize Bluebeam for digital markup of drawings and documentation to facilitate clear communication among stakeholders.
Review construction drawings thoroughly to verify scope accuracy and identify potential conflicts early in the process.
Lead project management efforts by scheduling activities, managing resources, and ensuring timely delivery of fire protection systems installations.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor work quality, interpret technical drawings on-site, and ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Skills

Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Xactimate for accurate budget forecasting.
Strong knowledge of fire protection systems design, installation practices, and relevant codes and standards.
Expertise in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints using Bluebeam or similar tools.
Excellent negotiation skills to secure contracts that maximize value while maintaining quality standards.
Proven experience managing construction projects from initial estimate through completion with a focus on cost control.
Skilled in reviewing construction drawings for accuracy and identifying potential issues early in the project lifecycle.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Construction site experience coupled with a solid understanding of construction management principles.
Familiarity with contracts management including scope definition, change orders, and dispute resolution processes.
