Process Server

Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Process Server, where you'll play a vital role in the legal and judicial system by delivering legal documents accurately and efficiently. Your energetic approach will ensure timely service of a wide range of legal notices, summons, subpoenas, and court orders. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work independently while contributing to the administration of justice. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to ethical standards will drive your success in this essential role.

Responsibilities

Serve a variety of legal documents including subpoenas, summons, complaints, notices to quit, eviction notices, restraining orders, child support and custody orders, foreclosure notices, lien documents, and other legal petitions.
Utilize mobile data collection software and mobile devices to document service attempts and successful deliveries accurately.
Manage process serving records meticulously, ensuring all proof of service is filed correctly within required deadlines.
Conduct private investigations when necessary to locate defendants or parties involved in legal proceedings.
Maintain professional ethics at all times while handling sensitive information and interacting with clients and the public.
Prepare detailed reports on service attempts, including dates, times, locations, and outcomes for each case.
Coordinate with couriers or use personal vehicles for timely delivery of legal documents across various jurisdictions.

Qualifications

Proven experience or familiarity with serving legal documents such as subpoenas, summons, eviction notices, restraining orders, and other court-related paperwork.
Knowledge of procedural law related to process serving and filing proof of service.
Strong report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to operate mobile data collection software and use mobile devices effectively.
Valid personal vehicle for document delivery; a clean driving record is preferred.
Professional ethics combined with excellent interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations discreetly.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases efficiently.
