Full Job Description

The Business Development Representative - Senior Care Services is responsible for generating new business and developing long-term partnerships with skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, continuing care retirement communities, and other senior care organizations. This is a highly field-based, results-driven position focused on expanding First Care Medical Clinic's presence throughout North Carolina.

The representative will work from First Care Medical Clinic's established facility database, territory plan, and daily routing strategy. The role requires consistent in-person outreach, relationship development, formal presentations, disciplined follow-up, and conversion of qualified opportunities into signed service agreements and measurable revenue.

Services Represented

Medical Director services for skilled nursing facilities.

On-site primary care services for skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities.

Behavioral and mental health services

Chronic disease management and preventive care.

Transitional care and care coordination.

Population health and other ancillary clinical programs offered by First Care Medical Clinic.

Primary Responsibilities

Execute the company's established daily routing plan and conduct consistent in-person visits to targeted skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other senior care organizations.

Identify and build relationships with administrators, executive directors, directors of nursing, wellness directors, regional leaders, ownership groups, and other key decision-makers.

Present First Care Medical Clinic's medical directorship, primary care, behavioral health, chronic care, transitional care, and population health solutions in a clear and compelling manner.

Assess each facility's current provider coverage, service gaps, operational challenges, census needs, resident care needs, and dissatisfaction with existing clinical partners.

Develop qualified opportunities by determining the facility's decision-making process, current contracts, renewal dates, competitive relationships, timeline, budget considerations, and readiness to change providers.

Schedule and coordinate introductory meetings, discovery calls, physician leadership meetings, site assessments, and formal proposal presentations.

Prepare for each facility visit by reviewing available ownership, leadership, service, bed-count, and contact information.

Maintain persistent and professional follow-up with all active prospects through telephone calls, email, scheduled visits, mailed materials, and other approved outreach methods.

Advance opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial contact through discovery, proposal, negotiation, contract execution, onboarding, and handoff to operations.

Work collaboratively with medical leadership, operations, credentialing, legal, billing, and clinical teams to ensure proposed partnerships are operationally feasible and properly implemented.

Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of all outreach activity, contacts, meetings, opportunities, objections, next steps, and expected close dates in the designated CRM or tracking system.

Develop and manage an active pipeline that reflects realistic opportunity stages, anticipated revenue, decision-makers, barriers, and next actions.

Submit weekly activity reports, pipeline updates, mileage or vehicle documentation, expense records, and other reports requested by leadership.

Attend healthcare networking events, association meetings, conferences, community events, and facility functions as assigned.

Represent First Care Medical Clinic professionally and protect the organization's reputation, confidential information, relationships, and business interests.

Meet or exceed established daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance expectations.

Perform other business development and relationship-management duties reasonably assigned by leadership.

Performance Expectations and KPIs

Daily Expectations
Complete approximately 6-8 targeted facility visits.
Conduct or pursue 2-3 scheduled decision-maker meetings.
Complete at least 10 meaningful follow-up contacts.
Update all CRM or tracking activity before the end of the workday.

Weekly Expectations
Complete approximately 30-40 facility visits.
Generate 8-12 first meetings or substantive conversations with qualified decision-makers.
Maintain timely follow-up on 100% of active prospects.
Participate in a weekly pipeline and performance review with leadership.

Monthly and Quarterly Outcomes
Add qualified opportunities to the active pipeline.
Deliver formal presentations and proposals.
Secure signed medical director and senior care service agreements.
Establish new assisted living and skilled nursing partnerships.
Generate measurable new revenue and expand existing organizational relationships.
Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and demonstrate consistent progress toward closing goals.

Compensation Structure
This position does not include a guaranteed base salary.
Compensation consists of a recoverable draw against future commissions and an uncapped commission opportunity.
Expected annual earnings are approximated, depending on performance and actual business generated.
The amount, duration, recovery method, commission triggers, payment timing, clawback terms, and treatment of outstanding draw balances will be governed by a separate written compensation agreement.
Commission eligibility may depend on continued employment, collection of revenue, successful implementation, and compliance with all compensation-plan requirements.

Daily meal allowance averaging up to $30 per eligible workday, subject to company policy.
Established territory routing plan and target facility database.

All company-provided equipment, allowances, access, and resources remain company property or company benefits and are contingent upon active employment, satisfactory performance, policy compliance, and authorized business use. All company property must be returned immediately upon request or separation from employment.

Required Qualifications
Demonstrated success in business development, outside sales, relationship management, or a comparable results-driven role.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate confidently with healthcare administrators, clinical leaders, physicians, owners, and senior executives.
Strong organization, follow-up discipline, time management, and pipeline-management skills.
Ability to work independently in the field while remaining accountable to measurable performance standards.|
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, mobile technology, and CRM or sales-tracking systems.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle and insurability requirements.
Ability and willingness to travel daily throughout the assigned territory.
Professional appearance and conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare business development or sales experience.

Experience with skilled nursing, assisted living, senior care, hospice, home health, physician relations, behavioral health, medical devices, or pharmaceutical sales.

Existing relationships with senior care administrators or ownership groups in North Carolina.

Experience selling complex services with a multi-month sales cycle.
