Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team focused on the design, enhancement, and development of complex industrial processing equipment. This role will contribute to both ongoing product improvements and new product initiatives, working alongside a highly skilled group of engineers with deep expertise in pressure-containing systems and industrial machinery.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical design, stress analysis, and product development, along with the ability to support projects from concept through manufacturing and implementation. Experience working with fabricated assemblies, machined components, hydraulics, and industrial equipment is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Support day-to-day engineering activities and product development initiatives.
Develop detailed mechanical designs, models, and technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
Review and validate engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), calculations, and design documentation prepared by other team members.
Perform sizing, dimensioning, and structural evaluation of components, assemblies, and equipment systems.
Generate engineering documentation and maintain design records within PDM/PLM systems.
Identify, specify, and procure materials and components required for development projects.
Monitor project schedules and assist with expediting materials and deliverables as necessary.
Ensure designs meet requirements for safety, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost effectiveness.
Select components and assemblies that comply with applicable domestic and international standards.
Provide engineering support to manufacturing, operations, service, and other internal stakeholders.
Investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and external technical resources throughout project execution.
Participate in customer discussions to support equipment performance, functionality, and process optimization.
Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and safety evaluations for new and existing products.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and product design.
Minimum of 3 years of experience using SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
Minimum of 5 years of experience performing stress analysis on mechanical systems and structures.
Demonstrated success leading or contributing to engineering projects from concept through implementation.
Working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving.
Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional international travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience utilizing root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS Workbench, APDL, or similar tools.
Advanced experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
Experience working within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, including Teamcenter or comparable platforms.
Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII.
Background in metallurgy and materials science.
Familiarity with ISO standards and geometric tolerancing practices.
Experience designing and documenting metric-based equipment and components.
Demonstrated track record of solving complex engineering challenges and overcoming technical obstacles.
Understanding of regulatory and industry standards including UL, CE, OSHA, IBC, and related requirements.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
