Full Job Description

Purchasing Assistant

DSI Dantech is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our growing operations in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position is ideal for someone with experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment who enjoys a fast-paced role that combines purchasing, inventory management, logistics coordination, and problem-solving.

As a key member of our team, you will serve as a primary point of contact for internal departments and suppliers, helping ensure the timely identification of parts, procurement of materials, order processing, and shipment coordination. Your efforts will directly support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

· Create and process purchase orders

· Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment planning

· Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, order status, and delivery schedules

· Obtain and compare supplier quotes to support cost-effective purchasing decisions

· Expedite critical orders to prevent production delays and material shortages

· Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier files, and procurement documentation

· Track open purchase orders and proactively follow up on delayed shipments

· Update and maintain ERP data, including pricing, lead times, supplier information, and inventory records

· Support inventory cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies

· Coordinate domestic and international shipments (UPS, LTL, FTL)

· Perform other purchasing, administrative, and supply chain support duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Experience using ERP systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and vendor management abilities

Strong communication skills

Preferred:

Experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain operations

Knowledge of industrial manufacturing or refrigeration equipment

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with flexibility as needed)
