Position Summary
The Facilities & Logistics Coordinator supports the day-to-day operation of Piller's facilities, inventory, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, and test facility activities. This role plays a vital part in supporting the Projects, Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams by coordinating material flow, maintaining facility systems, overseeing inventory processes, and ensuring equipment, materials, and resources are available to support business operations.
The Facilities & Logistics Coordinator also coordinates facility maintenance activities, contractor services, shipping logistics, workplace safety initiatives, and operational readiness to help ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Operations
- Coordinate the day-to-day maintenance and operation of company facilities, grounds, and building systems, including electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
- Coordinate routine facility inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and contractor services.
- Monitor facility conditions and identify maintenance or improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate facility-related vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Monitor facility supply inventories and coordinate replenishment of operational materials.
Inventory, Warehouse & Logistics
- Support inventory control activities, including receiving, stocking, organizing, issuing, and tracking parts, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain inventory locations and assist with cycle counts, audits, and physical inventory activities.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including freight scheduling, shipment tracking, carrier communications, and shipping documentation.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers using powered industrial equipment.
- Coordinate Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and shipment of equipment for repair, calibration, warranty evaluation, or replacement.
- Assist with crating, packaging, and preparation of equipment for domestic and international shipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory, logistics, and shipping records.
Operational Support
- Support Project, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams by coordinating the movement and availability of equipment and materials.
- Assist with customer equipment testing, load bank testing, and related test facility operations.
- Maintain company-owned cables, load banks, tools, meters, and other test equipment.
- Support cross-functional operational activities as business needs require.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in workplace safety inspections and support corrective action initiatives.
- Promote safe work practices and compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, logistics performance, and facility operations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Training or experience in facilities maintenance, inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Education
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Facilities maintenance
- Inventory control
- Warehouse operations
- Shipping and receiving
- Logistics coordination
- Operational support
- Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, freight carriers, or service providers preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, technical service, or operations environments preferred.
- Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems and associated safety practices is preferred.
- Ability to perform basic building maintenance is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- Forklift Operator Certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of facility maintenance, warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software applications.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and perform physical work throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing, office, outdoor, and industrial environments.
Work Environment
This position works in a combination of office, warehouse, manufacturing, test facility, and outdoor environments. Duties may involve exposure to industrial equipment, shipping operations, and powered material handling equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated work areas. Occasional after-hours support may be required based on operational needs.
