Line & Prep Cook (Full-Time)

Join Our Small, Creative Team at Morning Sunshine

At Morning Sunshine, we believe in more than just great food. We're a tight-knit, passionate team that values quality ingredients, creativity, and the power of community. Our cafe serves up a blend of Hispanic and Middle Eastern flavors with the help of local ingredients, when possible. If you're a line cook with a love for food and a desire to grow alongside like-minded individuals, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities:

Prep & Cooking: Follow and adapt recipes, creating dishes with a focus on quality and presentation.
Support the Line: Work efficiently during service to ensure smooth flow and timely delivery of orders.
Inventory Management: Track and organize ingredients to maintain stock and ensure we never run out of what matters.
Setup & Breakdown: Ensure your station is prepped for service and properly cleaned after hours.
Maintain Cleanliness: Help with dishpit duties and keep the kitchen orderly and sanitary throughout the shift.
Uphold Food Safety Standards: Ensure food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed at all times, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualities We’re Looking For:

Organizational Skills: You’re great at managing your time and keeping things tidy.
Multitasker: You’re cool under pressure and know how to juggle tasks without breaking a sweat.
Detail-Oriented: You care about every aspect of the dish—from taste to presentation to cleanliness.
Proactive & Resourceful: You take initiative and are quick to solve problems before they arise.
Team Player: You collaborate well and believe the kitchen runs best when everyone works together.

Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or culinary training.
Baking experience is a plus but not required. Passion and dedication matter most!

Hours of Operation:

Thursday-Monday: 9 am - 3 pm

Compensation & Perks:

Competitive hourly rate: $18-$22 per hour, based on experience

Work/life balance. Mainly morning and daytime shifts with a few evening catering sprinkled throughout the year
