Full Job Description

The duties of this position involve assisting in a variety of building maintenance and repair work, such as: Installs, maintains and replaces electric switches, outlets, light fixtures, electric fans, electric motors and circuit breakers; Installs, maintains and replaces all types of plumbing lines, soil pipes and fixtures. Diagnoses and repairs minor problems in gas and electric appliances; Performs routine building maintenance cleaning work; Performs snow plowing, snow removal and salting of walks and parking lots; Performs paint work in empty apartments; Performs tasks such as paper hanging, patching and sheet rocking; Performs concrete repair work on steps and walks; Lays and replaces the floors; Will need to assist tenants with minor repairs and general facility upkeeps as well as ensure grounds are maintained. This may include cleaning bathrooms. vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing areas, mowing lawns, weeding, cleaning perimeters of buildings and other duties to keep facilities esthetically pleasing. May assist in cleaning, repairing and updating tenant living units in between tenant occupancies. May be asked to work at more than one location. Will also assist staff with such duties as moving furniture, unloading and loading supplies, general facility upkeep and errands as needed. Should be a team player, a quick learner, reliable and flexible in responding to the various needs of the staff and agency. Good attendance record is a must. Valid driver license required.
