Venue Manager – Seasonal Ice Skating Rink

Season Dates: November 22, 2025 – January 11, 2026 (plan to be hired September, 2026)

Job Type: Seasonal, Full-Time

About Us

Ice Rink Events is the nation's leading provider of seasonal ice skating rinks, creating memorable holiday experiences for guests of all ages. We are seeking an energetic, organized, and customer-focused General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our seasonal outdoor ice skating rink at Birkdale Village.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing teams, and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Position Overview

As Venue Manager, you will oversee all aspects of rink operations, including install and tear down, staffing, customer service, safety, facility maintenance, scheduling, reporting, and overall site performance. You will serve as the primary on-site leader and work closely with company leadership to ensure a successful holiday season.

Responsibilities

Oversee all daily rink operations, including opening and closing procedures
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise seasonal staff
Create employee schedules and ensure proper staffing levels
Manage payroll budgets, daily reporting, and administrative tasks
Oversee POS systems, online ticketing platforms, and waiver systems
Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times
Address guest concerns and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards
Conduct daily facility and safety inspections
Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of rental skates, equipment, POS systems, and facility assets
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction
Assist with rink installation and removal alongside project managers and installation crews
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for guests and staff

Qualifications

Experience in Management required
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience hiring, training, and managing employees
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working with technology, including Google Workspace, POS systems, payroll software, and mobile applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Must possess a valid driver's license
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, and lift throughout the workday
Must be able to pass a background check

Schedule Requirements

This position requires a flexible schedule throughout the season, including:

Evenings
Weekends
Holidays
School breaks
Special events and peak attendance periods
