For over 68 years, Bemsco Defense Products Inc. has been manufacturing precision aerospace and defense components for the United States military and the aerospace industry. We specialize in complex, tight-tolerance machining and the manufacture of critical components for military aircraft and defense systems.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving complex machining challenges, and wants to be part of a team that manufactures products supporting our nation's defense.

What You'll Be Working With

At Bemsco, you'll have the opportunity to machine complex aerospace components using industry-leading equipment, including:

Mazak CNC Machining Centers
DMG MORI CNC Machining Centers
Vertical and Horizontal CNC Mills
Multi-axis machining equipment
Large machining capabilities with up to 120 inches of X-axis travel
Precision inspection equipment, including Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)

Our work ranges from prototype development to low-volume and full-rate production of precision aerospace and defense components.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
Manufacture precision aerospace components to exact specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
Perform complete machine setups, tool changes, and program adjustments.
Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding methods.
Machine parts to extremely tight tolerances.
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
Work closely with Engineering, Programming, and Quality to improve manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
Maintain accurate production documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all AS9100 quality procedures and company safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience.
Ability to independently set up and operate CNC machining centers.
Strong blueprint reading skills.
Working knowledge of GD&T.
Experience using precision inspection equipment.
Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining practices.
Excellent mechanical aptitude.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other aerospace alloys.
Experience with Mazak or DMG MORI machines.
Multi-axis machining experience.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as JobBOSS.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Experience working within an AS9100 quality system.
