Retail & Operations Associate – SwimStop NJ
SwimStop LLC is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated Retail & Operations Associate to join our team at our New Jersey location.
This is a hands-on position that supports nearly every part of our day-to-day operation — from fulfilling online and team orders to working with customers in our retail store, managing inventory, receiving shipments, decorating apparel, and helping at competitive swim meets and events.
A competitive swimming background is required. We're looking for someone who already understands the sport, the products swimmers use, and the competitive swim environment.
Regular weekend availability is required for this position. Our New Jersey retail store is open on weekends, and team members will also have opportunities to work SwimStop events and swim meets.

What You'll DoOrder Fulfillment & Custom Apparel
A major part of this position is helping fulfill customer, team, and online orders.
Responsibilities include:
- Pulling merchandise for customer and team orders
- Checking orders for accuracy before completion
- Preparing apparel for decoration
- Using heat press equipment to apply team logos, names, designs, and transfers to apparel
- Applying patches and designs to hats using our hat press
- Folding, organizing, packing, and preparing completed orders
- Helping ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
- Maintaining an organized order fulfillment and production area
Training will be provided on our heat press equipment and decoration processes.
Inventory & Receiving
You'll help us keep inventory organized and accurate throughout the facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Receiving incoming packages and shipments
- Unloading and opening deliveries
- Checking received merchandise against orders and packing slips
- Putting merchandise away in the correct inventory locations
- Restocking products as needed
- Assisting with physical inventory counts
- Helping maintain accurate inventory records
- Keeping stock and storage areas clean and organized
- Identifying inventory discrepancies and communicating them to management
Some lifting and moving of boxes and merchandise will be required.
Retail Store
You'll work directly with customers in our physical SwimStop retail store during both weekday and weekend store hours.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting customers
- Helping swimmers and parents select suits, equipment, apparel, and accessories
- Providing product and sizing recommendations
- Answering questions about competitive swim products
- Operating our point-of-sale system
- Processing purchases and customer transactions
- Restocking and organizing the sales floor
- Keeping displays and merchandise organized and customer-ready
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service
Because you'll be helping swimmers and families choose products, knowledge of competitive swimming and swim equipment is essential for this position.
E-Commerce & WooCommerce
Our online and team stores are an important part of our business, so this position will also assist with e-commerce operations.
Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:
- Reviewing and processing online orders
- Assisting with WooCommerce orders and team stores
- Updating order statuses
- Helping maintain accurate product and inventory information
- Assisting with basic online store updates
Previous WooCommerce experience is strongly preferred but not required. Experience with other e-commerce platforms is also helpful.
Events & Swim Meets
SwimStop operates mobile retail stores at competitive swim meets and other aquatic events throughout the region.
Team members may assist with events, including:
- Preparing and pulling inventory for upcoming events
- Loading and unloading merchandise and equipment
- Setting up our mobile retail store
- Assisting customers during swim meets
- Operating the point-of-sale system
- Restocking and organizing merchandise
- Pressing custom apparel and hats on-site
- Breaking down and packing the store after events
Schedule & Availability
This is an in-person position at our New Jersey location with regular weekend work required.
Our retail store operates during the week and on weekends, so applicants must have weekend availability and should expect weekend shifts to be a normal part of their schedule.
In addition to working in our physical store, team members may also be scheduled to assist with SwimStop events and competitive swim meets.
Schedules will vary based on store coverage, order volume, events, and business needs.
If you are not regularly available to work weekends, this position will not be a good fit.
What We're Looking For
A competitive swimming background is required for this position.
You should already be familiar with competitive swimming, swim meets, and common products such as training suits, tech suits, goggles, equipment, and apparel.

SwimStop LLC is a competitive swim retailer providing swimwear, equipment, team apparel, online team stores, custom merchandise, mobile pro shops, and event services to swimmers, teams, and aquatic organizations.
Our New Jersey facility serves as the center of our retail, e-commerce, team apparel, inventory, and event operations.
We're a small, hands-on team, which means everyone plays an important role. Some days may be focused heavily on fulfilling and pressing team orders, while others may involve receiving a large shipment, taking inventory, helping customers in the store, preparing for an upcoming meet, or working an event.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable with that variety and is willing to jump in wherever they're needed.
