Teya Support Services, LLC is seeking a General Construction Superintendent/SSHO (Site Safety and Health Officer) in Lakehurst, NJ that will be responsible for managing multiple federal DB and DBB construction projects. Superintendent will oversee and ensure the overall project schedule is on time, perform weekly safety meetings, conduct daily reports, and ensure any required federal, state, local or contract required reports are conducted and filed accordingly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for leading one or more construction projects and for the overall management of the planning, scheduling, code compliance, cost tracking, safety, and completion of these projects. The Superintendent is responsible for directing and mentoring subcontractors and other on-site field staff. The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and team building skills.
- Coordinates with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpret specifications and coordinates various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Coordinate and interface with supervisory and engineering personnel, as well as inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials, to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Supervise the crew(s) and craft workers in the application of all projects
- Managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
- Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor needs, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
- Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company’s non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies.
- Prepare the daily construction reports in a thorough and timely manner and maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site
- Develop, update, modify (as required) and maintain the project schedule including a master schedule, 60-day look ahead schedules for their assigned trades, and two-week look ahead schedules for their assigned trades.
- Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project.
- Assure daily job progress photographs are taken in ample quantity to accurately depict the progress of the work.
- Prepare and attend the weekly subcontractor meetings. Assist in maintaining the minutes of these meetings, and ensure they are recorded and distributed.
- Prepare and manage weekly safety meetings, regular toolbox talks, and safety pre task meetings as required.
- Attend weekly meetings with the project team for purposes of updates on the status of the field work and communication of any issues requiring the input or action of others on the project team, and for notification to the project team of issues that may be of importance or interest to them.
- Communicate any issues requiring additional information from designers and consultants in a timely fashion to the project manager for issuance of RFI’s.
- Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage work loads of individual projects
- Ensures any federal, state, local, site, or contract required reports are conducted and filed accordingly or as needed by operations or contract/government staff.
- This is a dual-hat position. The SSHO will be responsible for enforcing site safety requirements, implementing the project Accident Prevention Plan, and ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1. Duties include daily safety inspections, conducting toolbox talks, correcting hazards, and serving as the primary safety point of contact with the Government.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- 10+ years of general construction supervisory experience in the federal sector (some commercial sector work will be considered).
- Must be able to run multiple crews across various construction scopes.
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
- Work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general construction practices, including renovations, new construction, site development, and excavation.
- Proficiency in project management software (RMS, Procore, P6, MS Project, etc.).
- Ability to obtain and maintain DISCO Secret Clearance or higher levels, if required, and be able to obtain access to military installations.
- Must be able to manage large general construction contracts, contracts between $500,000 - $15,000,000
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients and project partners.
- Clear and effective communication in English, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite of products.
