ABOUT SCHOOL OF ROCK MOUNT PLEASANT

School of Rock Mount Pleasant offers programs for all skill levels and ages where students can learn guitar, bass, keys, drums or vocals. Combining 1-1 lessons with group band practices, along with live performances on stage, it is where students grow into real musicians and rock stars in their community! ABOUT THE JOB

Instructors are an integral part of the School of Rock Mount Pleasant team by helping to create an amazing and fun experience for students, while inspiring them to discover their musical potential!

RESPONSIBILITIES

The School of Rock part time Instructor teaches students from AC/DC to Zappa. The part time Instructor creates a safe and cool environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey.

In support of that goal, the part time Instructor is responsible for all music and education-related elements within the lessons. The part time Instructor creates a dynamic lesson experience to ensure their students are challenged and inspired. The part time Instructor embodies rock and roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating a valuable student lesson experience.

We teach five core areas at School of Rock - keys, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Many of our instructors have broader musical talent as well which we do our best to engage.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience as a performing musician
Previous teaching experience preferred
Experience working with children between the ages of 7-18.
Highly organized with attention to detail
A welcoming, friendly and outgoing demeanor is essential
Excellent team player who loves to collaborate with others
A positive and patient personality
A criminal record background check is required and is a condition of employment
This position is entirely in-person at our Mount Pleasant location. No remote work is available

TRAINING

Training can be completed remotely at your own pace, but must be completed by the deadline set by the Music Director. An in-person orientation, and additional training will also take place before your first day of lessons. All training will take approximately 6-8 hours to complete.

WORK HOURS & SCHEDULE

School is open M-Th 1-9
Lessons are between 3-9
Flexible with scheduling
