Collection Specialist

Skagit Farmers Supply | Burlington, WA

Skagit Farmers Supply, a local cooperative since 1934 based in Burlington, WA, serves farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and the communities in the Pacific Northwest. The company operates agronomy, propane, refined fuels, milling and wholesale divisions as well as retail Country Store locations in Washington and Montana. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ideal candidates will possess a high level of detail, initiative, discretion and independent judgment, with a positive attitude. Candidates should be flexible and detail oriented with a great attitude. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Build and maintain excellent customer relationships.
Assist customers with billing, service, payment questions and collections.
Update, maintain and reconcile account information.
Negotiate collection arrangements for overdue account balances.
Perform initial credit account setup and accounts receivables duties.
Build and maintain cross-functional relationships throughout the company.
Compile credit data following established company policies and guidelines.
Carry out continual process improvement and effective delivery of credit services.
Follow all company policies, procedures and Sarbanes Oxley controls.
Perform general administrative duties (answer and direct telephone calls on a multiline phone system, transport mail to and from the post office, open and process incoming mail, filing and other clerical duties).
Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
Develop positive work relationships with other staff. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information.
Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years’ collection experience.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds.
Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment

HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, in person, 40 hours per week position. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$25.00- $30.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
