POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director of Service Delivery is an Executive leadership role within the Skagit Valley Family YMCA (Skagit Y). This position provides strategic, operational, and fiscal leadership for the Skagit Y’s Service Delivery divisions, including Healthy Living, Membership, Youth Development, Childcare, and Y Outdoor Programs, as well as Advancement functions including Marketing, and Community Outreach.
The ED is responsible for ensuring high-quality program delivery, strong operational performance, and sustainable revenue growth across all service-delivery units. This includes leadership in membership development, childcare and outdoor-program enrollment, program alignment with market needs, staff supervision and development, operational efficiency, and facility oversight. The ED serves as a key member of the association’s Executive Leadership Team, actively contributing to strategy formulation, cross-functional alignment, and association-wide decision-making.
This role is essential in advancing the Skagit Y’s mission by integrating service delivery excellence with community engagement, and strong financial stewardship.

Association-Level Leadership

Serve as a member of the Skagit Y Executive Team contributing to strategy formulation, operational planning, and organizational decision-making.

Provide association-wide executive leadership in partnership with Finance, HR, Social Impact, and other Executive leaders.

Champion a collaborative, shared-services approach to support mission advancement and optimize service delivery across divisions.
Operational Leadership & Service Delivery

Oversee the executive director of Healthy Living and senior directors of Youth Development.

Ensure that programs and services meet community needs, deliver high value, and reflect the Y’s mission and strategic priorities.

Develop high-quality member engagement strategies and ensure delivery of exceptional customer experiences.

Maintain oversight of facility operations, maintenance, and safety in collaboration with Facilities leadership.
Revenue, Budget & Performance Accountability

Provide P&L leadership for all Service Delivery units, ensuring sustained revenue growth and responsible financial management.

Monitor monthly financial reports; ensure revenue targets are met, and expenses align with approved budgets.

Direct annual operating planning for Service Delivery divisions.
Advancement & Community Engagement

Serve as a key representative of the Skagit Y within the community, building positive relationships with civic leaders, partners, governmental entities, businesses, and volunteers.

Ensure consistent and effective application of the Y brand within local communities.
Systems & Operational Infrastructure

Ensure effective membership, childcare enrollment, and donor management systems, including billing and CRM platforms.

Guide staff and volunteers on service quality, operational standards, and program excellence.

Support data reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Staff Leadership & Talent Development

Directly supervise assigned Service Delivery leaders; provide coaching, feedback, development planning, and performance management.

Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, high performance, and continuous improvement.

Support volunteer engagement and development within Service Delivery and Advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ten or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in YMCA or other nonprofit organizations preferred.

Bachelor's degree in business, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent combinations of relevant education and progressively work experience may be considered.

Demonstrated experience overseeing complex operations, staff supervision and development, membership and program growth, youth development programs, marketing, communications, facility operations, and sound financial practices.

Ability to build strong relationships across diverse socio-economic, cultural, and community groups.
-
Experience in volunteer engagement, board relations, and community leadership.
-
YMCA Organizational Leader certification required within three years of hire.
