Full Job Description

Title: Sr. Project Development Manager
Position Type: Contract
Location: Texas [one week per month to the project site and one week per month to the corporate office]

Key Project Requirements:

Demonstrated experience leading projects during FEED, conceptual engineering, and early project development, advancing projects from initial design through execution readiness.
Experience working directly with engineering consultants and Owner's teams to develop project scope, review engineering deliverables, and drive engineering maturity.
Proven ability to develop and refine project execution plans, baseline cost estimates, schedules, procurement strategies, and project risk assessments.
Experience managing long-lead equipment procurement and coordinating engineering, procurement, and project controls to support project development objectives.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, manage competing priorities, and effectively communicate project status to executive leadership.
Ability to travel one week per month to the project site and one week per month to the corporate office

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Development Manager to lead the execution of complex industrial capital projects from engineering through commercial operation. This six-month assignment is focused on advancing the project from early engineering design maturity toward an execution-ready project. This role will work closely with EPC project team, engineering, vendors and project controls to refine project scope, review engineering deliverables, develop execution strategies, coordinate long-lead equipment procurement, establish baseline cost and schedule, identify project risks, and prepare the project for successful EPC execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead project development activities during FEED and early engineering phases.
Coordinate with engineering consultants to review and mature engineering deliverables.
Facilitate project scope development and engineering review meetings.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, equipment selections, and constructability recommendations.
Develop project execution plans supporting transition into EPC execution.
Coordinate identification and procurement planning for long-lead equipment.
Work with Project Controls to develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and baseline schedules.
Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and Management of Change activities.
Coordinate engineering, procurement, project controls, environmental, permitting, and stakeholder activities.
Monitor project progress and communicate schedule, cost, engineering, and procurement status to project leadership.
Prepare engineering packages for transition into construction execution.

Job Requirements:

Demonstrated experience managing industrial capital projects during FEED, conceptual engineering, and project development.
Experience working directly with engineering firms, Owner's Engineers, or EPC engineering organizations.
Strong understanding of:

o Scope development
o Engineering deliverables
o Procurement planning
o Cost estimating
o Project scheduling
o Risk management
o Project controls

Experience reviewing engineering packages for constructability, operability, and procurement readiness.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling software.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project development environment.
Willingness to travel approximately 50% to project and corporate locations.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
10+ years supporting industrial capital projects during engineering and project development.
Experience with utility-scale energy, renewable energy, battery energy storage (BESS), power generation, hydrogen, chemical processing, or other industrial infrastructure projects.
Experience working for an Owner, Developer, Engineering Consultant, or EPC contractor during early project development.
Demonstrated experience with FEED, project development, engineering management, and project execution planning.
PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
