Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Tool & Die Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and repairing precision tools and dies used in CNC machining processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality components by maintaining optimal tooling performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
**YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING ON AND OPTIMIZING CNC MACHINES IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION.**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tool and Die Technicians assist in meeting production objectives by performing the following duties:
- Analyzes and studies specification prints (blueprints, sketches, models, etc.) to determine materials, fixtures, tooling, and machines required to fabricate parts
- Computes dimensions, plan layouts, and assembly method and sequence of operations
- Performs set ups and operations for machining tools; such as lathes, grinders, milling machines, shapers, and various hand tools to machine parts
- Verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications – verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances
- Connects wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components
- Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part
- Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws/sketches design of product
- May observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjusts tooling or fixtures as needed
- Works with production manager, quality, leadership team and engineering to identify and resolve machining issues, non-conforming or suspect parts, inefficiencies in production processes, and/or other concerns effecting equipment malfunctions, fixture capabilities, etc.
- Identify and communicate process improvement recommendations to improve efficiency of production operations
- Will be expected to participate in safety and quality activities including completion of audits, attending committee meetings, providing recommendations for continuous improvement, and participating in various activities
- Lead by example in following company policies, procedures, and expected standards of quality, providing safe working environment, and continuous improvement
- Communicate and document changes in production processes, fixtures, and tooling to ensure SOP’s and other required documentation updated with new information; communicate changes to engineering, operators, and Production Manager
- May train employees on production processes if changes effect standard operating procedures
- Complete ongoing training classes
- Expected to know and abide by Quality policy and relevant quality objectives as well as understanding the importance of QMS, it’s improvements, principles and implications if not followed as directed
- Understand and follow customer requirements and process for non-conforming parts
- Lead by example in following company policies, procedures, and expected standards of quality, safe working environment, continuous improvement, and supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values

Minimum Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Physical ability to perform essential functions of job with or without reasonable accommodations
- Strong mechanical/tooling aptitude
- Ability to use and read measuring and testing equipment
- Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerances
- Intermediate working knowledge of CNC processes, tooling, and fixtures,
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, gages, sketches, drawings, and work orders
- Thorough understanding of Mancor Policies/Procedures, safe working practices, Mancor Quality Standards, and manufacturing processes
- Effective communication skills
Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment in similar role required, 3-5 year preferred
- Demonstrated experience with CNC tooling, fixtures, jigs, equipment, machines
- Must be able to understand, maintain, and follow quality and safety standards, procedures, and policies
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Ability to operate forklift and other equipment
- Ability to detect issues, seek solutions, and resolve issues
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with management and colleagues
- Ability to apply common sense and reasoning needed to carry out instructions provided verbally or in writing, formally or informally
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little to no supervision to accomplish tasks
Physical/Environmental Conditions:
- May be exposed to unusual elements and conditions including extreme temperatures, oil, dust, dirt, smoke, metal shavings, loud noises, confined spaces, chemicals, trip and fall hazards, moving parts and equipment, electrical equipment, airborne particles and allergens, vibration, and exposure to overhead equipment and cranes
- Position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and/or walking
- Based on production needs, position may require overtime hours extending into evening hours and/or weekends; regular schedules for shifts may include ten (10) to twelve (12) hour shifts
- Position may require heavy lifting from minimum of 50lbs. without assistance or up to 100+ lbs. with equipment assistance
- May require bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, reaching
- Continuous physical movement to assemble, disassemble, and move parts weighing up to 50 lbs. continuously off and on machines, equipment, skids, etc.
- Consistent use of computer and other electrical equipment that could cause eye strain
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
