SUMMARY:

Do you have a knack for interpersonal communication, negotiation and strive for achievement? Do you want to shine? The Portfolio Specialist is responsible for managing and collecting on our outstanding customer base. You will listen, empathize, negotiate and map future payment plans with our customers, some of whom may be experiencing challenges in their business.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Research customer accounts for historical data and determine a strategy for communication - phone calls, text messages, emails - make that connection!

· Get to know the customer by cultivating a positive rapport – who are they, who are their family members, what is important to them? Work towards building a strong and positive working relationship.

· As you better understand the customers you are interacting with, you will use strong critical thinking and listening skills to guide them through the repayment process.

· Negotiate, problem solve, collaborate, encourage and connect with the customer. Working with the customer on a balanced resolution is what makes the relationship successful.

· Manages complex customer service situations promptly and professionally exceeding customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

· Must be comfortable on the phone; customer service experience is preferred

· Strong organizational/prioritization skills; detail-oriented with the ability to multitask

· Professional demeanor and the ability to thrive efficiently in a fast-paced environment

· Strong and effective oral / written communications skills

· Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises solid judgment to complete assigned tasks

· Experience dealing with 3rd party collection agencies

· Bachelor’s degree a bonus, but not required
