Lead Carpenter / Working Construction Supervisor
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled construction professional who can both perform hands-on construction work and oversee larger residential projects when needed. This is not a desk job or a purely management position. The ideal candidate is someone who can arrive at a customer's home, identify what needs to be done, complete high-quality work independently, and coordinate subcontractors on larger renovations and rebuilds.
This position requires a self-starter who takes ownership of projects, maintains professional communication with customers, and consistently delivers exceptional workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled residential construction work including framing, trim carpentry, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, siding, doors, windows, punch-out work, and general remodeling.
- Complete service calls, repairs, renovations, and rebuild projects with little to no supervision.
- Troubleshoot construction issues and determine the best course of action in the field.
- Interact professionally with homeowners and represent the company at all times.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Manage project progress and ensure work is completed to company standards.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors on larger projects.
- Schedule and manage trade partners including electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, painters, roofers, and other specialty trades.
- Verify subcontractor work meets quality standards and project specifications.
- Assist with material planning, ordering, and jobsite logistics.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and solutions to management.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on residential construction experience.
- Strong working knowledge of all phases of residential construction.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems without constant supervision.
- Experience leading projects and managing subcontractors.
- Skilled in finish carpentry, remodeling, repairs, and general construction.
- Ability to read plans, blueprints, and scopes of work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform physical construction work daily.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is the person everyone calls when a project gets difficult. You can walk onto a jobsite, assess the situation, develop a plan, and get the work done. You are equally comfortable installing trim, framing a wall, rebuilding damaged areas, managing subcontractors, or communicating directly with homeowners. You take pride in your work, require minimal supervision, and understand how to deliver a finished product that exceeds customer expectations.
Compensation
Competitive pay based on experience, skill level, and leadership ability. Opportunities for advancement, performance bonuses, company vehicle allowance, and long-term career growth available for the right candidate.
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
