Full Job Description

**Job Summary:**

At Village Baker, we are committed to providing a quality dining experience to all our guests. This position requires qualified line cooks to help prepare menu items under the guidance of our management. The line cook will play a vital role in upholding our food safety and cleanliness standards. In addition, the line cook will assist in restocking items, sanitizing equipment, and plating meals. Village Baker is committed to creating memorable and delicious food experiences for our guests, and we recognize that having a hard working and cohesive staff is essential to achieving this goal.

**Duties:**

Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines

Adhering to cleaning procedures

Prepare ingredients and menu items according to recipes

Communicate and coordinate timing with other team members

Ability to follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines accurately.

Communicate and coordinate timing with other team members

Proper storage, rotation, and maintenance of kitchen supplies

Monitor inventory and communicate with a supervisor when stock and supplies are running low

Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Resolves customer complaints with diplomacy

**Requirements:**

High school diploma or equivalent is highly recommend

Experience in prior restaurants is required

Ability to learn quickly

Positive attitude

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Intermediate knowledge of cooking techniques, cooking temperatures, and food safety practices including safe food time/temperature minimums.

Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment.

Be able to lift, stoop, reach, and bend

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Food Safety Certification is preferred

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
