Full Job Description

Resort Cook

Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments.

Expectations for this position include becoming familiar with Lakewood Camping Resort, the ability to follow written and oral instructions in a professional and timely manner and perform general duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager. One must have a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and be able to maintain confidentiality of Company business, work weekends, holidays (All employees are expected to work the week of July 4th). or overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor. It is important that the schedule is followed. Second shift employees are expected to allow extra time to travel to work to adhere to the schedule.

Appearance is important. Lakewood will provide polo shirts, and it is required that navy or khaki shorts (at least 6” inseam) be worn to complete the uniform. Long hair must be pulled back. Only closed toe shoes will be allowed with the uniform.

Job Responsibilities:

· Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations

· Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.

· Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift

· Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system

· Cooking order according to food health and safety standards

· Handling multiple food orders at one time

· Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive

· Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides

· Storing all food properly

· Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils

· Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

Qualifications

· Able to work in a fast-paced environment

· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

· Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift

· Self-motivated and self-directed

· Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks

· Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders

· Previous experience as a busser, washer, waiter, cook, or relevant work experience

· Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends

· Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift; able to lift to 50 up pounds or more

· Able to read and write

· May be asked to perform other duties in other departments as assigned by supervisor or manager
