Location: AlleyOops Myrtle Beach (opening Spring 2026)
Reports to: Director of Restaurant Operations
Start Date: Estimated opening of April 2026, prior training will be held. Training period includes traveling to current locations in Ocean City, MD for on-site orientation/training.
Any applicants who are qualified will be set-up with an interview in the fall to discuss the role further, details about a training period in MD and overall opening timeline.

Position Summary:
The Arcade Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all arcade game machines and related equipment. This role ensures that all games and attractions are fully operational, safe, and optimized for maximum uptime and guest satisfaction. The technician plays a vital role in keeping the entertainment experience seamless and minimizing downtime through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Game Maintenance & Repair
- Perform diagnostic testing and repairs on arcade games, simulators, prize machines and redemption games.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues.
- Repair coin/card mechanisms, ticket dispensers, monitors, buttons, joysticks, and internal components.
- Replace faulty wiring, boards, switches, power supplies, and other hardware as needed.
- Maintain game settings, including ticket payout ratios, volume, lighting, and play configurations.
Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of all games to ensure proper functionality.
- Clean and lubricate internal components, coin slots, sensors, fans, and displays.
- Document and track recurring issues, recommending long-term solutions or upgrades.
- Calibrate motion-based or touch-screen games for accuracy and responsiveness.
Installation & Setup
- Assemble and install new game machines, working with vendors or warehouse teams when needed.
- Wire machines into network or card swipe systems.
Technical Support & Documentation
- Assist in training staff to operate or troubleshoot minor issues.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for opening, closing, and shift checks.
- Communicate with vendors or manufacturers for part orders and warranty repairs.
Safety & Compliance
- Properly tag out-of-order machines and notify management of downtime.
- Safely handle electrical components, tools, and ladders per OSHA regulations.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Redemption Manager to monitor machine performance and guest feedback.
- Support special events, tournaments, or high-traffic days with increased game readiness.
- Provide feedback on game reliability and maintenance costs to inform future purchasing decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1–3+ years of experience in electronics repair, arcade maintenance, or a technical/mechanical trade.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, soldering, and low-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with hand tools, multimeters, and basic computer diagnostics.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and repair manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with arcade management systems such as Embed, Intercard, or Amusement Connect.
- Vocational training in electronics, IT, or mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of both coin-operated and card-operated machines.
- Certifications in electronics repair or related technical fields.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to stand, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Comfortable using ladders and working in noisy, high-traffic environments.
- Able to work with small tools and components requiring manual dexterity.
