And we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional legal services to our clients. Our Houston-based firm is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Briefing Attorney to join our team. We are looking for a nerd. This role is ideal for an attorney who excels in legal research and writing, thrives in a collaborative environment, and prefers to focus on the intellectual aspects of legal practice without the demands of courtroom appearances or fussy client interactions.

Position Overview:
As a Briefing Attorney, you will be responsible for handling complex legal research and drafting tasks. This position does not involve attending court or arguing cases but will play a critical role in developing strong, persuasive legal arguments to support our litigation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth legal research on a variety of topics.
Draft and edit briefs, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents.
Collaborate with attorneys to analyze case strategies and develop written arguments.
Stay informed about evolving legal precedent, statutes, and all relevant case law.
Review case files and provide detailed analyses to support litigation.

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Texas.
Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in using legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience:

3-5 years of legal experience in research and drafting roles—but if you are outside that range—make your case to us with persuasive writing that you should still be considered. That’s the job!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
