Introduction

A rapidly growing automotive service organization is conducting a confidential search for an experienced General Manager of a Automotive & Commercial Service Manager to lead a high-volume operation in Lufkin, Texas.

This is a career-defining opportunity for a proven business leader with direct financial responsibility, strong operational discipline, commercial business development capability, and the ability to build a team that can scale a high volume operation into an even stronger market leader.

The successful candidate will have significant autonomy and accountability for revenue growth, profitability improvement, commercial and fleet expansion, customer experience, talent development, and day-to-day execution.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a hands-on operator who thinks like an owner and understands how to grow a business through people, process, customer relationships, and disciplined execution. The leader in this seat must be equally comfortable reviewing financial performance, coaching service advisors, leading technicians, calling on commercial customers, and executing a long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

· Business Leadership & Financial Management

· Own and manage the complete financial performance of a $6.25M operation.

· Drive sustainable revenue, gross profit, expense control, and profitability improvement.

· Analyze key business metrics and develop action plans to improve performance.

· Manage labor productivity, operational efficiency, expenses, and EBITDA performance.

· Execute short- and long-term business strategies that strengthen market position.

Commercial & Fleet Business Development

· Significantly grow commercial, fleet, and B2B business.

· Develop strategic relationships with local businesses, municipalities, fleet operators, and service partners.

· Create and execute commercial sales initiatives that expand market penetration.

· Increase customer retention through reliable service delivery, trust, and relationship management.

People Leadership

· Recruit, develop, coach, and retain top-performing talent.

· Build a culture centered on accountability, performance, safety, and customer service.

· Develop future leaders and create bench strength for sustained growth.

· Foster employee engagement, retention, and consistent execution standards.

Operational Excellence

· Ensure outstanding service execution and customer experience outcomes.

· Optimize workflow, productivity, technician utilization, and capacity management.

· Drive safety, quality, compliance, and company standards.

· Use reporting and analytics to identify opportunities and improve operating results.

Required Experience

· Proven success managing a $4M to $10M+ automotive, tire, fleet, truck service, heavy-duty maintenance, or dealership fixed operations business.

· 5+ years of progressive leadership experience with direct P&L accountability.

· Demonstrated ability to grow revenue, increase profitability, and improve operational performance.

· Experience leading large teams in a fast-paced service environment.

· Strong business and financial management skills, including the ability to interpret metrics and act decisively.

· Track record of developing high-performing teams and future leaders.

· Experience growing commercial and fleet customer relationships.

Preferred Background

· Automotive aftermarket, tire retail, fleet maintenance, diesel service, heavy truck service, or dealership fixed operations leadership experience.

· Multi-location management experience.

· Strong commercial sales and account management background.

· Technical automotive knowledge and/or ASE certifications are beneficial but not required.

Compensation & Career Opportunity

This position offers a highly competitive compensation package including base salary, uncapped performance incentives, and long-term career advancement opportunities for a leader capable of delivering exceptional business results.

For the right candidate, this role provides the opportunity to lead one of the region's premier automotive and commercial service operations while making a meaningful impact on employees, customers, and overall business performance.

Base salary: $130,000 - $150,000
Performance-based incentive opportunity: $40,000 - $75,000+ annually
Total target cash compensation: $170,000 - $225,000+

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
