Interior Design Sales Consultant

Full-time · In-person · Commission-based with benefits

This isn't a one-product sales job. At FCA Interiors, you'll work with clients from concept to completion helping them envision and execute full interior transformations. That means flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, custom kitchens and baths, window treatments, furniture, and more.

If you have the design instinct to pull a room together and the sales skills to close the deal, this role is built for you.

What you'll sell:

Flooring

Hardwood, carpet, vinyl, laminate, tile, stone

Cabinetry & countertops

Custom kitchen and bath cabinetry, stone and solid-surface countertops

Kitchen & bath remodels

Full-scope renovation projects from design through installation

Window treatments & furniture

Draperies, blinds, and furnishings to complete any space

A broader product mix means larger average tickets and higher earning potential for consultants who can cross-sell across categories.

The design side of this role is real.

Our best consultants think like designers, and many are Interior Designers. They walk into a client's home, or listen to a client describe it, and immediately start seeing possibilities. They understand how flooring grounds a space, how cabinet finishes set a mood, how countertop materials tie a kitchen together.

Formal interior design training is a strong plus, but if you've developed a genuine design eye through experience, personal passion, or professional work in a related field, that counts too. What matters is that you can translate a client's vision into a cohesive product selection and back it up with a compelling presentation.

This role is for closers.

We're not looking for order-takers or cashiers. We're looking for consultative sales professionals who know how to build trust, uncover a customer's real needs, and guide them to a decision, then follow through until the job is done.

We operate across three channels: a brick-and-mortar showroom, e-commerce, and a nationwide dealer licensing division, giving our consultants exceptional buying power and a highly competitive product lineup. Our consultants develop loyal, repeat clientele and build books of business that reflect their expertise and relationships.

What you'll do:

· Guide clients through full-home design decisions from flooring to cabinetry to countertops with a consultative approach that earns trust and drives decisions.

· Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across product categories to maximize project scope and your commission.

· Qualify customers quickly, recommend the right products for their project and budget, and provide accurate ballpark estimates without leaving the floor.

· Prepare complete, timely quotes and follow up proactively keeping customers informed and deals on track.

· Manage your pipeline, appointments, and paperwork efficiently protecting your selling time and your clients' experience.

What we're looking for:

· Proven commission sales experience. You've sold to consumers in a high-involvement, considered-purchase environment and you can speak to your results.

· Design instinct: an eye for color, space, and how products work together.

· Interior design background, training, or equivalent real-world experience is strongly preferred.

· A natural closer: you're comfortable asking for the business and following up until you get a decision.

· Sharp with numbers: you can calculate rough estimates quickly and build accurate written quotes without slowing down.

· Organized and self-managed: you hold yourself accountable to your pipeline without being micromanaged.

Note: This is a commission-based role. Customer service experience alone, without a demonstrated sales track record, is not a match for this position.

Requirements

· 1+ years in commission-based consumer sales (required)

· Interior design background or equivalent experience (strongly preferred)

· Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience

· Valid driver's license and ability to commute to Shorewood, IL 60404

· Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

· Must pass pre-employment background check; drug-free workplace
