Full Job Description

We are looking for an individual with the compassion, organization, and drive to join our team as part-time driver. Split shifts, Monday - Friday with both a morning shift (6:30am-8:30/9am) and afternoon shift (2pm-4:30pm) (SPLIT SHIFT) for our Senior Day Center in Naperville, IL. You will be assisting Senior Adults to and from their homes to our Naperville Senior Day Center. You will be driving minivans and transit vans (12-15 passenger, no CDL required). BILINGUAL ENGLISH/SPANISH REQUIRED.

Our adult day service centers provide a community of friends and enables our members to continue living independently. By engaging in social and enrichment activities, our members keep their minds sharp, spirits high, and provide a break for family and other caregivers. Daily activities include music lessons, light exercise, group activities, arts and crafts, games, and current events as well as center-provided meals and transportation. Each center maintains health and wellness with an on-site nurse to provide wellness checks, as well as program staff to implement the daily activities.

The Driver role is responsible for providing transportation for our Senior participants to and from their community homes and Adult Day Program Center in Naperville. Other responsibilities include:

Assist with ensuring safety of enrolled senior participants by exercising excellent judgement skills and patience.
Drive up to 15 passenger van, transporting participants to and from the adult day program and their home.
Assist with arrival and departure of participants on and off of the van to ensure safety, along with checking participants in and out with their arrival and departure times.
Consistently exercise open communication with supervisor and program staff.
Assist in serving breakfast, lunch, and snack to the participants.
Assist in light housekeeping duties.
Work as a team with other staff members assuring that activities are conducted adequately and appropriately, and all participants are safe.

TO BE A STRONG CANDIDATE FOR THE POSITION:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A passion for serving others, especially the aging population in the community
Quick learner, detail-oriented, and resourceful
Pleasant, positive, and patient approach and attitude
Ability to have fun while working in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience with Senior population
Knowledge or experience with vehicle maintenance
US work authorization
Valid and current driver’s license in good standing

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Program operates between 8:30am-2:30pm, however drivers will be required to begin and end their day depending on the duration of their assigned routes and schedule.
