Full Job Description

Front of House Operations and Event Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing private events and group dining experiences at Backwater Jacks. This position serves as the primary point of contact for guests and members from the initial inquiry through the day of the event, ensuring every detail is organized and every event exceeds expectations.

This role also oversees the daily operation of the host stand, works closely with restaurant management, the kitchen, and service staff, and supports the administrative and operational needs of the restaurant to provide an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and execute private events, group dinners, and special functions from booking through completion.
Meet with guests to discuss event details, menus, room layouts, timelines, and special requests.
Create and maintain Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), Group Confirmation Agreements, and other event documentation.
Communicate event details and timelines with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless execution.
Serve as the primary point of contact for guests before, during, and after their events.
Manage reservations through OpenTable and assist guests with booking inquiries.
Lead, train, and schedule the host team while maintaining proper staffing levels.
Perform host responsibilities including greeting guests, managing reservations, seating guests, answering phones, taking to-go and delivery orders, and maintaining an organized host stand.
Respond professionally and promptly to guest emails, phone calls, and reservation requests.
Manage the Jack's Pack membership program by assisting with new member enrollments, renewals, member communications, and promoting membership benefits.
Welcome and onboard new restaurant members by providing information on reservations, dining policies, events, membership benefits, and available services to ensure a positive first experience.
Assist with employee onboarding, including coordinating new hire paperwork, background checks, scheduling systems, and training with management.
Assist with monthly food, beverage, and operational inventory counts while maintaining accurate records.
Prepare reports, organize operational information, and communicate with investors and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) regarding restaurant operations and administrative matters.
Assist with restaurant marketing initiatives, promotional emails, member communications, social media support, and special events.
Coordinate with vendors and outside organizations as needed for events and restaurant operations.
Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative projects as assigned.
Work closely with management to ensure excellent guest satisfaction and efficient restaurant operations.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Weekend and evening availability required.
Previous experience in hospitality management, restaurant management, event coordination, or a related field required.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment required.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple events and responsibilities simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with reservation systems such as OpenTable is preferred.
Ability to prepare and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event documentation.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
