Job Summary

Join our dynamic cardiology practice as a Medical Records & Health Information Specialist, where your expertise will ensure the accurate management and secure handling of patient health information. In this vital role, you will oversee the organization, maintenance, and confidentiality of medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and facilitating seamless access to health data for clinical and administrative purposes. Your proactive approach will support efficient patient care delivery, revenue cycle management, and uphold the highest standards of health information management.

Responsibilities

Manage and organize patient medical records with accuracy and confidentiality, ensuring all documentation complies with legal and regulatory standards.
Retrieve, file, and update electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently to support clinical workflows.
Verify the completeness and accuracy of medical records, including test results, treatment notes, and billing information.
Assist healthcare staff by providing timely access to patient information while maintaining strict privacy protocols.
Scan, index, and digitize paper records into electronic systems to streamline record management processes.
Ensure all medical records are properly stored, backed up, and securely disposed of when appropriate.
Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve discrepancies or missing information in patient files promptly.

Experience

Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and their functionalities is essential.
Strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret and organize clinical documentation.
Proven ability to handle sensitive medical records with discretion and confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to maintain data integrity.
Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools and evolving healthcare regulations.
