Full Job Description

Job Summary
Are you interested in having 30% of your daily work be administration and 70% patient care? If you have cardiology experience or cardiology testing experience this one is for you!

The Clinical Coordinator Cardiac Imaging provides clinical expertise, knowledge, and leadership for care team members in coordinating staffing,

work assignments and department flow. Serves as a mentor by role modeling professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer

service, clinical effectiveness and standards of care. Assists the department Director to develop, implement, and monitor compliance to the unit

operating budget, financial performance, and quality performance. The coordinator also performs direct patient care and supervision of the Cardiac

imaging modalities to include the following: Echocardiography, Pharmacological Stress Echocardiography, Exercise Stress Testing, and Stress

Radionuclide Cardiac Imagine (exercise and pharmacological), Cardiac CT, Cardiac PET, and Cardiac MRI under the direct supervision of a physician.

Duties

· Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned cardiac imaging modalities.
· Assists in management of expense budgets for equipment, staffing, supplies, and materials.
· Delegate’s authority and accountability for clinical practice and patient care decisions.
· Assists department Director with employee feedback for evaluations.
· Specializes in patient care during complex cardiac diagnostic procedures, monitoring vitals, administering medications, managing IVs, educating
patients on tests, ensuring safety, and assisting the cardiology team before, during, and after imaging, acting as a vital link for patient comfort and
procedural success.
· Patient Preparation: Reviewing histories, explaining procedures, administering pre-medications, setting up IVs, and addressing anxiety.
· During Procedures: Monitoring vital signs, heart rhythms, and sedation levels; assisting providers; managing complications (e.g., allergic
reactions); administering contrast agents (as ordered and appropriate).
· Post-Procedure Care: Monitoring complications, providing hydration as ordered, giving discharge instructions, and offering emotional support.
· Technical Assistance: Using equipment, handling medications, contrast agents, and managing radiation safety.
· Collaboration &Education: Working with cardiologists, technologists, and other staff; educating patients and families.
· Performs all nursing care/procedures with technical accuracy and a thorough understanding of safety standards.
· In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system and ability to interpret EKGs.
· Knowledge of radiation safety and equipment safety.
· Assists with and promotes education and competency of EKG technicians. Serves as mentor to Cardiology technicians and sonographers.
· Position may be required to support cardiac testing in both inpatient/outpatient settings and requires ability travel to other locati
Extensive knowledge of cardiac physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques including cardiac catheterization and sonography.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient records management.
Critical care experience in settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers enhances clinical judgment in acute situations.
Strong leadership skills with previous supervisory or nurse management experience in hospital medicine or specialized units like PICU or neonatal ventilator care.
Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and utilization management processes.
Excellent patient assessment skills combined with expertise in medical terminology, medication administration, IV infusion/insertion, and sterile technique.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across emergency medicine, behavioral health, geriatrics, or long-term care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes. Qualifications:

Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Critical Care, Cardiac Testing, Cardiac Cath Lab, or Interventional Radiology, and Advanced knowledge of

Electrocardiographic (EKG) Interpretation required.

· Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Strong leadership and critical thinking skills.

· Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows

Pay: $35.70 - $55.00 per hour
