Full Job Description

The CNC Machinist II position requires set-up and operation abilities of more than one multi-axis machine such as the current DMG Mori Seiki (ZL and SL with Fanuc controls) and Citizen Swiss Screw Machine (A32), or alternate machines of similar function/capability. Inspection of own and other associates’ parts, computer skills, ability to read and edit programs and make sound decisions when presented with issues is required. Excellent communication skills are paramount as working on multiple machines with associates is a required function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

List the job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects of the job -- whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually; and any that occur at irregular intervals.

Safely set-up and operate multiple CNC equipment with minimal assistance.
Ability to simultaneously operate more than one CNC machine at a time.
Read and adhere to all written processes.
Inspect product utilizing visual and hand inspection equipment (microscopes, vernier calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, profilometer, etc.).
Inspect, change, and make offsets to cutting tooling in CNC equipment.
Use 5S to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Completion of formal trades or apprenticeship program in machining or equivalent preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Late Model CNC machines and other new technologies
Vocational trades school, high school diploma or equivalent preferred (formal trades or apprenticeship programs preferred) and/or minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience.
Trained and demonstrated proficiency with all LVC machine shop equipment/machines/processes (evaluated by Supervisor).
Self-starter and motivated to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Perform basic math.
Ongoing training will be developed and implemented based upon the candidate’s experience level.
Detail oriented and highly organized.
