Full Job Description

About the Position

The Knorr Group of ALCOVA Mortgage is looking for a motivated, relationship-driven Mortgage Loan Officer / Loan Partner to join our growing team.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants the stability of a salaried position while still having the ability to originate loans, receive team-generated opportunities, and build their own book of business.

We believe mortgage lending is a relationship business. Technology and email are important tools, but they should never replace a conversation.

Our motto is simple:

We want someone who isn't afraid to pick up the phone, communicate proactively, and build relationships with borrowers and real estate agents throughout the transaction.

Compensation

Base Salary: $30,000 annually

PLUS production compensation:

25 basis points (0.25%) on eligible team/referred closed loan volume
50 basis points (0.50%) on eligible self-generated closed loan volume

This position provides a guaranteed salary while giving you the opportunity to significantly increase your income through both team-provided opportunities and your own production.

What You'll DoLoan Partner & Client Experience

You will help manage the client and Realtor experience from application through closing.

Responsibilities include:

Personally calling borrowers throughout the mortgage process
Proactively communicating with the real estate agents on BOTH sides of the transaction
Calling before relying on email whenever appropriate — Dial Before You File
Helping clients understand the mortgage process and what comes next
Following up on applications, documentation, conditions, and outstanding items
Providing proactive milestone updates throughout the transaction
Assisting with pre-approvals and new loan opportunities
Working closely with processing, underwriting, closing, and other team members
Helping ensure loans stay on schedule and deadlines are met
Maintaining accurate notes and communication within our systems
Delivering a high level of service to borrowers and referral partners
Helping create an exceptional experience that generates repeat and referral business

Origination Opportunities

This is not simply an operations or Loan Partner position.

You will also be a producing Mortgage Loan Officer with the opportunity to:

Receive leads and loan opportunities from our team
Originate team-referred mortgage business
Develop your own Realtor and referral relationships
Generate business from your personal network
Build your own book of mortgage business
Grow your production and income over time

Our goal is to provide the right person with a strong foundation while giving them the opportunity to develop into a successful producing Loan Officer.

What Does "Dial Before You File" Mean?

Simple.

Pick up the phone.

We don't want borrowers or Realtors wondering what's happening with their loan.

When there is an important update, milestone, issue, or opportunity to strengthen a relationship, we believe a conversation should happen whenever possible before simply sending another email.

An email can document the conversation.

It shouldn't always be the conversation.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

Is a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator or is able to meet applicable licensing requirements
Has excellent phone and communication skills
Enjoys working directly with borrowers and Realtors
Understands the importance of proactive communication
Is organized and capable of managing multiple transactions
Is comfortable taking ownership of the client experience
Has strong follow-up skills
Is coachable and works well within a team
Wants to develop new Realtor and referral relationships
Has an entrepreneurial mindset and wants to grow their own production
Understands that great service creates future business
Is comfortable being held accountable to communication, service, and production expectations

Mortgage experience is strongly preferred.

How Leads Are CompensatedTeam/Referred Business – 25 BPS

Eligible business provided through established team/company sources is compensated at 25 basis points on closed loan volume, subject to the company's approved compensation plan.

Self-Generated Business – 50 BPS

Eligible business personally generated through the Loan Officer's own relationships, personal sphere, and new referral sources is compensated at 50 basis points on closed loan volume, subject to the company's approved compensation plan.
