Full Job Description

Job Overview
Railhouse Pub is looking for a skilled line cook / culinarian to join our team! The individual will need to be very high energy and motivated, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and thrive off the challenge of working quickly and efficiently while maintaining food quality and presentation.

We have two operations, a brick & mortar kitchen and a mobile food setup and maintain a fairly slim crew to manage both. Restaurant work is demanding work but food truck life faces it’s own set of challenges in that it is extremely fast paced and challenging, very long days in varying weather, and intense rates of work. Every team member will need to be prepared to work in either operation at any time, be able to accomplish the required tasks in the required time frame at the expected quality, and be able to travel to the location of either operation. Every member of the team will be expected to participate equally and always pull their weight, regardless of the challenges presented for the day.

In both operations, the menu is centered around locally sourced Certified Piedmontese beef to make an ultra-premium burger. I make a great effort to ensure that all our product is extremely high-quality. For that reason, I expect every individual on my team to treat the product in the same manner. However, in the process, the individual will learn to cook at an extremely high level of quality and learn great skills that are necessary working in commercial kitchens.

Duties

Brick & Mortar:

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
Completes all assigned prep work
Setting up and maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
Ensuring proper food handling and storage practices.
Cook food using various methods like grilling, frying, and more.
Communicating effectively with the chef and other cooks.

Food ‘Truck’:

Assist in setting up the food business for sales at events
Setting up and maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
Ensuring proper food handling and storage practices.
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
Assist in tearing down the food business at the conclusion of events
Cashier / Sales
Communicating effectively with the chef and other cooks.

Experience

Culinary Skills: Strong cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
Food Safety: Understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements.
Knife Skills: Proficiency in using knives and other kitchen tools.
Organization: Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Attention to Detail: Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions accurately.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.
