Job Description

Watertown Savings Bank is looking for friendly, outgoing individuals to join our team as a Float Teller. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service to all customers by processing transactions accurately, timely, and efficiently. An ideal Teller candidate should have cashing handling experience, feel comfortable working large sums of cash, working with the public, using a PC, and have strong communication skills.

In this role, you will have the unique chance to support multiple branches while providing exceptional service to our customers. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety in their work, building relationships with different teams, and gaining exposure to a wide range of branch operations. This role offers valuable experience across multiple locations and serves as a strong foundation for career growth in retail banking.

The full-time Float Teller position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, including two Saturdays in a four-Saturday month and three Saturdays in a five-Saturday month. Saturday work hours are paid at the rate of time and a half. This position reports to the Branch Administrator.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Provide prompt, accurate routine tasks, including making deposits, withdrawals, transfers, issuing money orders or cashier checks, receiving loan payments, cashing checks, etc.
Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Understands the process of placing holds on accounts and adheres to and practices the information found within Funds Availability.
Comply and keep updated on all policies, procedures, regulations, etc.
Set up and keep an organized workstation for daily activity, i.e., obtains necessary forms and supplies for individual workstation and orders cash as needed.
Answers phones and transfer calls to appropriate personnel if unable to assist the customer.
Identifies sales opportunities and makes referrals to appropriate departments or individuals.
Assists in the bank-by-mail functions, where available.
Reports malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station
Correctly identify customers and examine checks for proper endorsements and authenticity.

Other Responsibilities:

Performs related duties as may be assigned or requested.
The above is a description of the ordinary duties of the position. It should be expected that from time to time, other tasks, both related and unrelated to the above, may be assigned and, therefore, required.

Qualifications:

Experience in cash handling and managing debits & credits - Prior experience in a similar role preferred, but not mandatory.
Strong background in banking and financial services (preferred)
Proficiency in basic math and financial calculations.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues- Ability to work at all branch locations. (Within 5 miles)
