Help Bring the Magic of Kawaii Slime Company to Retailers Around the World!
Kawaii Slime Company is a fast-growing manufacturer of slime and sensory toys, creating products that inspire creativity and joy for kids everywhere. As we continue expanding our wholesale business, we're looking for an experienced Wholesale Director to lead our wholesale strategy, build lasting retail partnerships, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
This is a leadership role for someone who loves developing business, building teams, and creating long-term strategies that help a company scale.

Position Overview
The Wholesale Director is responsible for leading the company's wholesale sales strategy, growing existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, and overseeing the overall performance of the wholesale division.
This role partners closely with the Director of Operations and Executive Leadership to align sales forecasts, product launches, inventory planning, and company initiatives with customer demand. While the Wholesale Account Management team manages the day-to-day execution of wholesale orders, the Wholesale Director provides strategic direction, develops key partnerships, and ensures the wholesale department meets its growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Wholesale Strategy & Growth

Develop and execute the company's long-term wholesale growth strategy.
Identify new market opportunities across specialty retail, gift stores, museums, attractions, educational markets, distributors, and national retailers.
Develop annual wholesale revenue goals, budgets, and sales plans.
Evaluate market trends and customer insights to guide strategic decisions.
Identify opportunities to expand product placement and increase market share.

Business Development

Build and maintain relationships with key retail buyers, distributors, and strategic partners.
Lead negotiations for major wholesale accounts and long-term partnerships.
Represent Kawaii Slime Company in high-level customer meetings and business development opportunities.
Expand domestic and international wholesale channels where appropriate.

Department Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop the Wholesale team, including Wholesale Account Managers and future department growth.
Establish department goals, KPIs, and performance expectations.
Coach team members on account strategy, customer relationship management, and sales best practices.
Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and results-driven culture.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner with the Director of Operations to align wholesale forecasts with inventory planning and company objectives.
Collaborate with Marketing on product launches, promotional campaigns, wholesale catalogs, and retailer support materials.
Work with Finance on pricing strategies, profitability, sales forecasting, and annual planning.
Support Executive Leadership in developing long-term growth initiatives and strategic business decisions.

Customer & Account Oversight

Maintain executive-level relationships with key wholesale partners.
Support the Wholesale team in resolving escalated customer concerns.
Conduct regular business reviews with strategic accounts to identify opportunities for continued growth.
Ensure the wholesale customer experience reflects Kawaii Slime Company's values and brand standards.

Trade Shows & Industry Presence

Represent Kawaii Slime Company at industry trade shows, conventions, networking events, and buyer meetings.
Stay informed on industry trends, consumer behavior, competitive activity, and emerging retail opportunities.
Develop relationships that strengthen the company's position within the toy and specialty retail industries.

Reporting & Performance

Monitor departmental KPIs, including:
Wholesale revenue growth
New account acquisition
Customer retention
Average order value
Gross margin
Forecast accuracy
Prepare monthly and quarterly business reports for Executive Leadership.
Use performance data to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

Within your first year, you will:

Grow wholesale revenue through strategic partnerships and account expansion.
Build stronger relationships with key retailers and distributors.
Develop scalable wholesale strategies that support long-term company growth.
Improve forecasting accuracy through close collaboration with the Director of Operations.
Build and mentor a high-performing wholesale team.
Increase brand presence through strategic partnerships and industry engagement.
Position Kawaii Slime Company as a preferred partner within the toy and specialty retail markets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of progressive experience in wholesale sales, business development, consumer products, or retail.
3+ years of leadership experience managing sales or account management teams.
Proven success growing wholesale revenue and developing strategic retail partnerships.
Strong business acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and sales planning.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with Operations, Marketing, and Finance.
Willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry trade shows.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the toy, children's products, gift, novelty, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
Existing relationships with national retailers, distributors, museums, attractions, or specialty retailers.
Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial manufacturing environment.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
