Overview
Silver State Adolescent Treatment Center is seeking an experienced, independently licensed behavioral health professional to serve as our Clinical Director.
Silver State is a growing Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) serving adolescents ages 11–17 with complex behavioral and mental health needs. Our mission is to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care that helps young people stabilize, heal, and successfully return to their families and communities.
The Clinical Director is a key member of our executive leadership team and provides oversight of the facility’s therapists, case managers, treatment planning, and clinical programming. This position offers the opportunity to develop a strong clinical team, improve treatment services, and help shape the continued growth of a newer adolescent program.
The ideal candidate is a confident and approachable leader who can balance clinical excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and the day-to-day realities of working with high-acuity youth. Candidates should have experience supervising behavioral health professionals and a strong understanding of treatment planning, clinical documentation, family engagement, crisis management, and Medicaid medical-necessity requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LCSW, LMFT, or licensed psychologist who wants to move beyond carrying a traditional caseload and make a broader impact on clinical quality, staff culture, and the lives of adolescents.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to licensed clinicians and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in mental health and behavioral therapy.
- Lead comprehensive intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for clients across various age groups, including pediatrics.
- Oversee the delivery of individual, group, child & family counseling, and behavioral management services utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and trauma-informed care.
- Manage crisis intervention efforts, including crisis management and crisis response protocols, ensuring client safety and appropriate escalation when necessary.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining detailed patient records within electronic health records (EHR) systems while managing medical terminology and coding such as CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9.
- Facilitate case management activities that include patient assessment, treatment coordination with families and community resources, and supporting patients with co-occurring disorders or neurodevelopmental conditions like autism spectrum disorder.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through clinical research initiatives, data collection efforts, and quality assurance processes aligned with best practices in mental health care.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA privacy rules, medical records management, and documentation protocols for hospital or community-based settings.
- Foster a positive team environment by providing leadership in clinical team meetings, supervising staff performance, and supporting professional development opportunities.
- Engage in community outreach to enhance service accessibility for individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds while advocating for mental health awareness.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in mental health or behavioral health settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing clinical teams within outpatient clinics or hospital environments specializing in mental health counseling and behavioral therapy.
- Extensive background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis (ABA), trauma-focused therapy (PTSD Care), and behavior management strategies.
- Hands-on experience conducting intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and managing electronic health records (EHR/EHR).
- Skilled in crisis management techniques including crisis intervention protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Supervisory experience leading clinical teams while fostering professional growth through mentorship and supervision of licensed clinicians.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to mental health conditions and behavioral health treatments; experience working within HIPAA-compliant environments is essential.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary care plans involving social work principles, case management strategies, special education collaborations when applicable, and hospital or community-based services.
