Manufacturing Buyer / Purchasing Specialist

Location: Prospect, CT
Salary: $55,000–$75,000+ per year, depending on experience
Full-Time | Temp-to-Direct Hire or Direct Hire

A growing manufacturing company in Prospect, CT is seeking a Manufacturing Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to join its team. This opportunity is open to candidates at different experience levels, from a junior-level buyer with a solid purchasing foundation to an experienced manufacturing buyer.

The Buyer will support the purchasing needs of the organization by working with suppliers, coordinating material requirements, monitoring purchase orders, maintaining accurate purchasing information, and helping ensure materials and components are available to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities

Purchase materials, components, supplies, and other items required for operations
Prepare, issue, and monitor purchase orders
Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules
Follow up on open orders and help resolve delivery or supply issues
Review pricing and assist with vendor negotiations
Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records
Coordinate with production, inventory, engineering, and other internal departments as needed
Help identify opportunities for cost savings and purchasing efficiencies
Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships

Qualifications

Previous buying, purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
Manufacturing purchasing experience is strongly preferred
Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
Comfortable communicating and negotiating with vendors
Ability to manage multiple priorities and purchasing requirements
Strong computer and data-entry skills
Junior-level candidates with relevant purchasing experience are encouraged to apply
Experienced buyers with a strong manufacturing background are highly encouraged to apply

Pay: Up to $75,000.00 per year
