Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CPA Tax Manager to lead our tax department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while maximizing value for our clients. Your leadership will drive innovative tax strategies, foster strong client relationships, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence financial success through expert tax management and strategic insights.

Duties

Manage and review federal, state, and local tax filings, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Lead tax planning initiatives including estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate restructuring to optimize client outcomes
Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory reporting requirements
Conduct detailed analysis of financial reports, balance sheets, and income statements to identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements
Supervise audits, internal controls (including SOX compliance), and account reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
Develop and implement tax strategies related to LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), private equity investments, and securities law considerations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial sales initiatives, asset management projects, and non-profit accounting activities
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and financial report writing
Provide mentorship to junior staff on technical accounting practices including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, payroll processing, and budget analysis
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting tax law and financial concepts to ensure ongoing compliance and strategic advantage

Experience

Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting with a strong focus on tax experience across diverse industries
Extensive knowledge of GAAP standards, financial statement preparation, and financial analysis techniques
Demonstrated expertise in estate planning, wills & trusts law, securities law, and non-profit accounting practices
Hands-on experience with auditing procedures, SOX compliance frameworks, and regulatory reporting requirements
Proficiency in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent tools for bookkeeping and financial management
Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform account reconciliation effectively
Familiarity with financial concepts related to mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, asset management, and financial planning
Excellent communication skills for preparing detailed financial report writing and interpretation for diverse audiences
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
