Tax Partner

Location: Ocean, NJ

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Compensation: $200,000 to $300,000 + Benefits

About the Opportunity

A highly respected and growing public accounting firm in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to join its Ocean, NJ office.

This is a unique opportunity for an established Tax Partner to step into a leadership position with an existing portfolio of long standing clients already in place. The incoming Partner will inherit relationships from a highly respected Partner who has played an important role in building the firm, allowing them to focus on client service, complex tax work, and continued growth rather than starting from scratch.

Importantly, there is no requirement to bring an existing book of business. The firm provides the platform, resources, and established client relationships while giving the incoming Partner the opportunity to shape the next chapter of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a lead tax advisor to privately held businesses, pass through entities, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and high net worth individuals.
Take ownership of an established portfolio of long standing client relationships and continue developing those relationships over time.
Deliver sophisticated tax planning and advisory strategies designed to minimize tax liabilities and support clients' business and personal financial objectives.
Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns and ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
Advise clients on complex tax matters and identify planning opportunities beyond traditional compliance services.
Work with clients across a broad range of industries, including professional services, real estate, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, and other closely held businesses.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and proactively communicate relevant planning opportunities and potential implications to clients.
Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Collaborate with audit, advisory, and consulting professionals to provide integrated solutions to clients.
Mentor, coach, and develop Tax Managers, Seniors, and Staff, helping to build technical expertise and future leaders within the firm.
Participate in firm leadership initiatives, strategic planning, recruiting, and practice development.

Qualifications

12+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience with significant leadership responsibilities.
Current or recent experience operating at the Tax Partner, Director, or equivalent senior leadership level.
CPA required.
Strong experience advising middle market, privately held businesses and their owners.
Significant technical experience with partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, individuals, trusts, and related tax planning.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong, long term client relationships.
Strong consultative approach with the ability to identify tax planning opportunities beyond compliance.
Experience working with clients across multiple industries.
Multi state tax experience preferred.
Demonstrated business development experience is beneficial, although bringing an existing book of business is not required for this opportunity.
Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and relationship management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with Partners and professionals across the firm.
