New Mexico Association of REALTORS® (NMAR)
Santa Fe, New Mexico | Full-Time | In-Person
The New Mexico Association of REALTORS® (NMAR) is seeking an experienced Manager of Financial Services to serve as the organization’s day-to-day finance leader. This is an opportunity to take ownership of accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, internal controls, and financial strategy while working directly with the CEO, Treasurer, Finance Committee, and executive leadership.
We are looking for someone who can see beyond the numbers—someone who can analyze financial and economic trends, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex financial information into clear recommendations that help leaders make smart decisions.
If you are analytical, highly organized, financially savvy, and comfortable serving as a trusted advisor to organizational leadership, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
Own Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, Treasurer, Finance Committee, and executive leadership.
- Research and monitor economic, financial, housing, and industry trends that could affect NMAR’s financial position and strategic priorities.
- Translate financial and industry data into actionable recommendations.
Oversee Accounting Operations
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for NMAR and affiliated entities.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee journal entries, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Support accurate billing, reconciliation, and reporting for dues revenue and other key revenue streams.
- Administer and optimize accounting systems and reporting tools, with Sage experience preferred.
Manage Cash Flow, Banking & Financial Controls
- Lead cash flow planning and monitoring.
- Oversee banking activities, including positive pay.
- Track reserves and monitor financial risk.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, procedures, and documentation.
Support Audits & Financial Compliance
- Serve as the primary liaison to CPAs and auditors.
- Coordinate audit schedules and requested documentation.
- Manage PBC (Prepared by Client) deliverables and follow through on audit findings.
- Maintain audit-ready financial records and processes.
Make Financial Information Easy to Understand
- Prepare leadership-ready financial reporting packages for the CEO, Executive Committee, and Finance Committee.
- Develop meaningful graphs, charts, forecasts, and other tools that help non-financial leaders understand the organization’s financial position.
- Provide finance guidance to department leaders on coding, documentation, purchasing, and financial planning.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit management.
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Exceptional integrity, discretion, organization, and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience managing finances for multiple entities.
- Experience with Sage accounting systems.
- Experience with nonprofit organizations or trade associations.
- Familiarity with governance, Finance Committees, and board-level financial reporting.
- Understanding of fund accounting and/or restricted-use funds.
Why This Role Matters
This isn't simply an accounting position.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence budgeting and strategic planning, strengthen financial processes and controls, improve reporting, identify emerging risks, and provide the financial intelligence leaders need to make informed decisions.
If you enjoy combining hands-on accounting expertise with strategic financial analysis and leadership support, this could be the role for you.
