Full Job Description

Job Summary

A confidential senior living organization is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead a well-established assisted living community located south/southwest of Minneapolis metro. This community offers a full continuum of residential care and services, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, with a total capacity of over 100 residents.

The Executive Director will provide overall leadership and operational oversight for the community, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, strong financial performance, team engagement, and an exceptional resident and family experience. This role requires a hands-on, visible leader who can build strong relationships with residents, families, team members, referral partners, and the broader community.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience successfully managing an assisted living or senior living community and will bring strong knowledge of Minnesota assisted living regulations, staffing operations, resident services, census development, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and day-to-day operational oversight for the community.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local regulations, including Minnesota assisted living requirements.
Promote a resident-centered culture focused on quality care, dignity, safety, and service excellence.
Lead, mentor, and support department leaders and team members across care, hospitality, culinary, maintenance, sales, and administrative functions.
Oversee financial performance, budgeting, labor management, census growth, and operational goals.
Partner with clinical leadership to support quality care outcomes, service plans, and resident/family communication.
Maintain strong relationships with residents, families, referral sources, regulatory agencies, and community partners.
Drive employee engagement, accountability, retention, and professional development.
Support sales, marketing, and occupancy initiatives to ensure continued census growth and community visibility.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of recent experience managing an assisted living community.
Active LALD or LNHA license required.
Prior leadership experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Independent Living, senior living, or long-term care operations.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, resident care operations, staffing, budgeting, and census development.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, resolve concerns, and build a positive community culture.
Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, team members, and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience overseeing a community with 100+ residents or beds.
Experience supporting multiple service lines, including Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Memory Care.
Strong background in census development, financial performance, staff retention, and quality improvement.
