Overview
We are seeking a
Peoplesoft HCM Business Analyst to serve as a Business Analyst and Functional Lead for PeopleSoft HCM initiatives. The consultant will support new PeopleSoft modules, enhancements, and functionality while also maintaining existing production modules and supporting business process improvement efforts across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have deep functional and technical experience with PeopleSoft HCM, strong SQL and reporting skills, and the ability to translate complex business needs into functional and technical solutions.
Duties
- Perform detailed analysis, planning, and requirements definition for new PeopleSoft HCM functionality.
- Serve as a Business Analyst and Functional Lead for PeopleSoft HCM enhancements, modules, and production support.
- Develop functional architectures, process models, and solution designs to meet evolving business requirements.
- Conduct process improvement reviews by analyzing system functionality, operations, logistics, and user needs.
- Map business processes to corresponding PeopleSoft HCM functionality.
- Ensure applications align with business needs and work with process owners to resolve issues.
- Define data flows and support integration between business processes, systems, and PeopleSoft modules.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, user design sessions, and stakeholder workshops.
- Collaborate with MTA groups, including MTAIT, Performance Management, and other business teams, to coordinate project deliverables.
- Work with application designers and technical teams to complete system enhancement designs.
- Design, develop, and maintain reports and PeopleSoft queries for HCM users.
- Participate in testing activities, including functional testing, end-to-end testing, and system integration testing.
- Assist the team lead in defining staffing needs, responsibilities, timelines, and schedules for system enhancements.
- Identify cross-team issues, risks, and dependencies and coordinate resolution.
- Write moderate to complex PeopleSoft queries to meet reporting and operational needs.
- Write complex DQL and DML SQL scripts for database querying, updates, and analysis.
- Review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established standards.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures, process documentation, and key requirements documentation as needed.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of functional and technical experience with PeopleSoft HCM v9.2 or higher.
- Minimum 10+ years of PeopleSoft HCM functional expertise.
- Minimum 10+ years of PeopleSoft HCM technical experience.
- Extensive experience with PeopleSoft HCM modules, including Human Resources, Compensation, Position Management, Performance Management, Learning and Development, Benefits Administration, Talent Acquisition Management/Candidate Gateway, and ESS/MSS.
- Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft self-service functions.
- Proven full lifecycle PeopleSoft implementation experience, including design, build, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into functional and technical designs.
- Experience defining business processes, data flows, integrations, functional architectures, and system models.
- Experience facilitating requirements gathering and user design sessions with key stakeholders.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience building moderate to complex PeopleSoft queries.
- Minimum 10+ years of extensive experience writing DQL and DML SQL scripts.
- Strong understanding of relational database design and functionality.
- Experience designing and developing reports for HCM users.
- Experience participating in end-to-end testing and system integration testing for new functionality.
- Experience reviewing project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established standards.
- Strong proficiency in business writing and excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, prioritization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2013, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Test Framework.
- Experience with state government or public sector projects.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint version 2010 or higher.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project version 2010 or higher.
- Familiarity with creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documenting key process requirements, and producing sample work upon request.
- Experience in desktop/mobile computer support and troubleshooting software-related problems.
