Full Job Description

Certified Professional Coder is needed with a minimum 2 years experience required for a midsized multispecialty practice. Candidate must have the appropriate equipment and a quiet setting to work from home 10 to 20 hours per week. Candidate must be a New Jersey resident. Proficiency using Epic Software and experience in cardiology and/or internal medicine a plus. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Professional references with current contact information will be requested.

Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and standards
- Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and CPT to assign appropriate codes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure accurate coding practices
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist patients with billing problems

Qualfications:

- Certified Professional Coder
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance claim submission
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare providers

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
