Full Job Description

Summary/Objective:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support the day-to-day HR operations of a growing property management organization across multiple entities. This role will partner closely with the VP of HR and assist with employee relations, leave administration, workers’ compensation management, compliance tracking, employee engagement initiatives, and training and development efforts.

The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, comfortable handling sensitive employee matters, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Essential Job Duties:

Employee Relations & Investigations

· Assist with employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, policy violations, and employee investigations

· Conduct intake meetings, document findings, maintain investigation files, and support follow-up actions

· Partner with management and HR leadership to ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures

· Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee matters

Leave Administration & Compliance

· Assist with administration and tracking of leaves of absence, including FMLA, PFL, disability, and reasonable accommodation requests

· Coordinate documentation and maintain accurate leave records

· Monitor compliance with federal, New York State, and NYC employment laws

Workers’ Compensation & Insurance Administration

· Coordinate and maintain workers’ compensation claims and related documentation across multiple entities

· Ensure workers’ compensation and New York State disability insurance policies remain active, compliant, and up to date

· Liaise with brokers, carriers, payroll, and operations teams regarding claims, renewals, audits, and employee documentation

Training, Engagement & Culture

· Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, company events, and HR communications

· Support training and development initiatives, including onboarding, orientations, compliance trainings, and manager development programs

· Help coordinate company-wide events and employee appreciation activities

HR Operations & Administrative Support

· Maintain employee records and HR documentation

· Assist with onboarding, offboarding, policy acknowledgements, and HR reporting

· Support various HR projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned

· Travel to company properties/sites as needed

Employee Development and Engagement

· Support career development initiatives and internal growth opportunities

· Assist in building learning pathways for key roles

· Contribute to employee engagement through development-focused programs

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

· 5+ years of HR experience preferred

· Experience handling employee relations matters and/or workplace investigations

· Knowledge of leave administration, workers’ compensation, and employment law compliance

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
